Bio:  I began building and racing cars in 2002.  One of my best friends got me into the sport, and at the
time it was just another of my already innumerable hobbies.  Through Kimiko, my race car, this turned into
more of a passion.  My friends and I founded Team Squid Racing about that time.  What started as a
couple of friends cruising the race track every once in a while quickly exploded; we now have nearly a
dozen racing members; and we still build and race our own cars.  I hold the position as the team's Events
Coordinator.  I gather information about the many car shows and race events going on and decide which
ones our team will attend.  We typically compete in at least four or five race events per year, and even
more car shows.  We even host our own car shows - one in the spring and another in the fall.
After I had decided to get a 300ZX, I found one in California that looked great and was in good
shape.  Within the week, I flew out to Sacramento and drove back to Dallas, the proud new owner of a
1987 300ZX Turbo.  Being 15 years old at the time and all original, Kimiko's stock parts were mostly
worn out.  So we replaced just about everything mechanical that could be replaced - shocks, spring, turbo
....We even replaced the engine and transmission with JDM parts fresh off the boat.  Eight months later, we had a powerful machine ready to hit the track.
On the way out to celebrate, Kimiko got rear-ended on the highway, leaving her "totaled".  Luckily, only the body was damaged.  I found another 300ZX,
this time a 1986, with a good body.  We tore that body down to a shell and replaced everything with parts from my original Z.  The front end is a little
different between the '86 and '87 models, so we even modified her so the front fenders, bumper, and hood could be transferred as well.  We wrapped up the
conversion project with a sparkling platinum paint job.  Kimiko will never be completely finished; however, I sill have a list of things to add, and I'm sure I'll
always find more things to put on that list to make her more competitive in races and shows.
